Events & Fundraising
Clevedon Lions organise events throughout the year and supports other local organisations at their shows.
We are grateful to the local community for their generosity.
LIONS Classic Vehicle Event
Held each year on a Sunday towards the end of April.
170+ vehicles take part, meeting at 10.00 am then being waved away on a 30 mile countryside drive by Alex Lovell from BBC Points West.
The cars then reassemble at the Salthouse Fields, Clevedon for the afternoon for the public to view and where a variety of food and craft stalls are available.
Proceeds of this event are mainly donated to the Children’s Hospice SW and The Clevedon Lions
– see http://lionsbrimar.org.uk for more information
Christmas & our Santa Float
Our Santa Float tours the streets of Clevedon each evening during December, so youngsters can meet Father Christmas, and in addition we collect outside local supermarkets during the month with the proceeds being earmarked for our DREAM SCHEME – click here for more details
Tree of Light
Each December, we erect a Christmas Tree in the foyer of the Baptist Church, so people can place a star on the tree and write a message to remember a loved one who is no longer with us
Bacon Butty Stall
Every 4th Saturday, at the Farmers Market in Queen Square we organise a stall selling fresh Bacon Butties and hot drinks – it’s a place where you can find out more about the Club – we also collect used stamps and old spectacles for recycling, so bring them along and meet us
Mini Roller Coaster
Our mini Roller Coaster is a firm favourite with youngsters at many local events – it’s available to hire to local clubs and schools for their own fetes and shows. Takings are normally shared to cover our maintenance and operating costs – click here for information
You will also find us at many local events with our selection of tabletop games – Key in the Box, Tin Can Shy, Roll-a -Ball and Spin the Wheel etc
All money raised goes into our Charity account for distribution to worthy causes and on our Community Service Programmes.
