Clevedon Lions was formed in 1968 and has provided support to many individuals, clubs and charities within North Somerset and the surrounding areas for over 50 years, as well as assisting with International Lions Club projects which, in turn, support global healthcare programmes especially for diabetes, clean water and restoring eyesight.
Clevedon Lions raises funds by organising many local events, including our ever popular Santa Float at Christmas – click here to see our Fundraising page.
The Club’s Community Service page gives details of how we help in the Community – click here for more information. Recent activities include the installation of three public access defibrillators and the replacement of public seating near to the seafront Bandstand.
Social Events & Activities
The social side of being a Lion is almost as important as our Fund Raising and Community activities and our social committee organises a range of events throughout the year for members.
Additionally, we have a Friends of Lions Group who kindly assist when we have additional manpower requirements at our larger events. Please get in touch if you can offer help.
Each February, we hold a Charter Dinner or Lunch which is the club’s ‘birthday’ celebration and invite members of other local Lions clubs to join us and the Lions South West area District Officials.
All the social events are a good way for club members to relax from the clubs active programme.
