Wherever you live, work or travel across the British Isles, you are likely to come across members of Lions clubs and the projects we support.
Every Lions Clubs supports a range of good causes and projects in its area where you can get involved. Every day Lions are having fun by organising remarkable and memorable fundraising activities. Every year in Europe alone, Lions Clubs’ members volunteer around 6 million hours of service and raise £88 million to support the needs of local communities.
Because we are local, we serve the unique needs of the communities in which we live. As we are global, we can address community challenges wherever they occur.
Clevedon Lions was formed in 1968 and has provided support to many individuals, clubs and charities within Avon / North Somerset and the surrounding areas for over 50 years, as well as assisting with International Lions Club projects which, in turn, support global healthcare programmes especially for diabetes, clean water and restoring eyesight.
We raises funds by organising many local events, including our ever popular Santa Float at Christmas – click here to see more.
One of the Clubs annual Community Service project is our Dream Scheme – click here for more information.
Social Events & Activities
The social side of being a Lion is almost as important as our Services activities.
Additionally, we have a Friends of Lions Group who kindly assist when we have additional manpower requirements at our larger events. Please get in touch when you can help.
Each February, we hold a Charter Dinner or Lunch which is the club’s ‘birthday’ celebration and invite members of other local Lions clubs to join us and the Lions South West area District Officials.
